28.6.02 good.. evening.. all.i am officially, thoroughly shagged, predominantly in the shoulders, legs and eyes. after 5 hours of flipping side to side in the bed, trying to get to sleep, the alarm clock mockingly sounded at 0645 - probably one of the earliest times at which i've woken myself, all thru 2002. opted not to shave after yesterday's mishap, went straight down to Bee Sun Eating House to have egg + teh-c breakfast. would it be fattening to have 3 eggs every morning and skip breakfast? the feeling of 3 eggs early in the morning is wonderfully fulfilling. just like how a person would feel after watching a great porn flick. met bapoh liang (biomech) at clementi mrt station, who was with tony (engineering) and both had bags so large as if they're going to stay over at ngee ann resorts. apparently they had a basketball match to attend after their orientations. took a cab down since there were 3 of us and they were pretty late... their briefings began 0830, mine 0900, and it was 0829 thereabouts... impressed everyone on board with "uncle, li ann gong yi xue yan" and "qing kou shang an quan dai" :P shows that my, erm, left brain is still functioning at at least 1% capacity... rained tits and bollocks while searching for our lecture theatres (LT's). eugene ong, who was our classmate for sec 3, walked past and shouted for us to rent umbrellas from the canteen's bookshop. how resourceful! thank goodness for that advice - else we'd make a full tour of ngee ann in the wet from west to east, which we did, after we acquired our umkabrella's (tony + bapoh liang 1 each). met a few familiar faces in the crowd of FMS 'freshies', such as the guy who was rambling in the waiting room about girls in shorts skirts prior to the FMS interviews, joshua (tan) - my former classmate, a familiar face from primary school whom i've not spoken to, a few more familiar faces froms maris stella high which i cannae be arsed to greet. quite a nice bunch of people in my class (1B01) i should say.. easy to mix around with; aren't overly sensitive, aren't racialist, aren't idiotic or such. and there's Nauwroz who works for mediacorp + a few other freelance jobs, here to get himself a paper qualification once and for all. our OGL's (orientation group leaders) for the day were Naz, Alison and Lin. none of which are chinese. not something i'd encounter in primary + secondary school, but not an issue to even worry/bicker about. they make a nice bunch of mates to hang out with. besides, you're supposed to be acting like an adult by now... saw a few short films at which the year 2's were laughing like nuts... leaving us freshies sitting there absolutely clueless. we soon got the flow and laughed along at those poor pantomime actors and actresses. things onscreen seem totally different if you know the guy in the video, trying his best at an impersonation of 'the ring'. quite a number of activities for the uh.. scavenger hunt, where we got to see pretty cool FSV equipment, cool spots and cool babes. *koff* acted out a scene with a malay gal (whatshername?) from titanic where jack and rose were at the ship's mast ("i'm flying!")... totally ghey improvisation with everyone else standing in a circle doing kallang waves :P melissa + tristan the spiky-headed guy from swiss cottage read this short passage from a library book with certain gusto. advised the QA students to "go away" when they realised the lift was full of soon-to-be FSV purists. was introduced to our various classrooms where we'd major in the future, such as film location, photography, animation, production etc. etc. was also led to the areas where we *shouldn't* attempt to smoke. instructed to run like the wind should you meet up with either 1 of the 4 polytechnic's wardens... eventually we babbled much more at 4pm than we were at bleary-eyed 10am. each of us (a few fsv + mcm classes) were issued toshiba laptops FOC! the only catch being we'd have to return them at the end of the semester :( unfortunately, it was a bitch to carry down to queensway shopping centre where i'd meet terence, raymond and hanbin. i already had a sling bag filled to the brim with needless stuff, and now i had to contend with this other bag containing a 3-kg laptop with all the accessories, included in the box, shoved at the side. and so evolved yet another mutant X-Man: (with a disgruntled-looking beer-bellied Wolverine to the left.) my gawd - i was having so much difficulty walking into the queensway shops and i experienced, once again, the pain i had to go through as a primary school kid sporting one of those giant, rectangular schoolbags measuring as long as our bodies. laptop's charging next to the computer now... will find out how winXP feels like on a laptop very soon. sibei shiok ar~! 0 Comments: |
