24.6.02 *caution* - painfully boring blog for people who aren't motorsport-savvy; recognise circuits only as 'beginner', 'advance' and 'expert'; shift gears without a clutch; drive with either leg bent in at a 25 degree angle; survives 355kph + triple-somersault carcrashes.. you get my pointwent to chiong the F355 challenge machines at bishan with joe (who just came back from his genting trip) after I had to cancel my primary schoolmates' makan outing due to horrible response. keeping contacts with your classmates is pretty difficult when the class directory is 4 years old and don't contain any handphone numbers :P anyways, joe brought along his sec sch. mate davis (IIRC) to have dinna with us and play *koff* backmarker when we raced afterwards. it may seem silly for a bunch of 17 year-olds to enter a neighbourhood arcade, but ferrari's f355 challenge is a good enough excuse to waste our money on. *koff*. we did a number of individual races to make a name for ourselves, me using the usual initials 'ong' and joe using 'cou' after the last name of david coulthard; his aspiring racer-cum-sheep-shagger. ('ong on ong' - trust me to miss out on that 'g' :P) (joe's initials at his favourite track.. long beach) we later took to the ghey oval montegi circuit to give davis a better chance to catch up. a nice mano-a-mano-a-mano race, both joe + i scraping our doors on two occasions, and davis taking a few AI cars out. we did a hakkinen + schumacher @ 2000 belgium impression where joe was sandwiched between davis + i on the last turn. a few virtual-spectators crapped their pants when davis t-boned the wall, while i got to finish 1st just ahead of joe :P (fwah, joe got fastest lap siah) ended this silly chionging session with a longbeach race. i had my palmy's camera in hand to capture a few moments of the duel. it turned out to be a bad idea. (joe's view halfway thru the race - that red car's me >:D ) (aaaah! nooo! this cannot be! joe's bumper edging ahead! his steering wheel was ackshully 45 degrees in my direction :P) (sheeeeeeet. tried to e-brake and hoping joe would slam into the left wall. alas, its a move which happened a million times and DC finally clinches his win :-\ ) lesson of the day: never attempt photography while driving a ferrari. cheers - i'll be missing a tooth come tuesday afternoon *pouts* 0 Comments: |
