25.6.02 woke at 11am today, good to know my clock is coming to terms with more 'godly' hours. first thought upon consciousness: sai, dental appointment later today. hello needles, numby-liquid and big pliers :(but before the torture comes the now-frequent ritual of sms-ing everyone, asking for their WC bets and buying em all from cheers, bugis branch. was still thinking of the impending doom at Glory Dental (i'd put 'visit gory dental' in palm) when i had a *ahem* pleasant surprise upon entering cheers. right there, paying for her groceries, was FIONA XIE! yeah yeah, i know my description page states 'farts at fiona xie', but guys just can't simply avoid eye candy :) tok kong, sia!! stood there stunned for awhile, then it finally struck me that my palm had the ability to take pics. wasn't quick enough to take it out in time, she was walking quite briskly and was conveniently blocked by a few shelves thanks to her vertically-challenged frame :( definitely no competition in the horizontal aspect i say... one glance and you'd be *koff* blown away. and you wonder what the counter guy had an eyeful of, standing on that elevated platform and all. still no comments for the head compartment though, everytime you think of fiona xie you'd remember that 'i love genie' show on channel 8. and as the saying goes, the more you act like an idiot, the more you become one. something like that. had some kuah-lah-dah at wendy's corner before the daunting, pensive trip down tanjong katong. apparently kuah-la-dah is a rather salty peranakan dish. green in colour and full of peppers, salt, ginger and herb leaves. it'll take me quite some time to get used to the taste... especially with a wound in my mouth in time to come :( took 197 from victoria st down to tg katong. the memories of the horror that is the 1st tooth extraction are still fresh in my head. the appointment scheduled a 30-minute appointment; the actual thing went on and on for another additional hellish hour. the causes - healthy gums, triple-rooted tooth, sticky roots and, i guess, a rather negative state of mind which added to the pain. (1st extracted right, recently extracted left) i hate needles, thin needles, long needles, bright shiny needles. i had two plunged near the excavation zone and one was twisted all around to spread the anaesthetic. f*king OUCH! then i had spacers added to loosen the remaining teeth. then i saw the pliers coming my way :~( *clamp*, *twist*, *twist*, *twist*, *twist*, *twist*, *pull*... it was way, way below my expectations. the silly tooth just came out within half a minute, compared to the last one which had a million more *twists* and a thousand more *pulls* and *clamps*. Dr Chow even had to take a few rest breaks inbetween the clamps. she said if she'd rushed then it'd break the tooth into two and i'd have to go for an operation. always good to have a family friend who's a dentist! one more thing to be happy about i guess. from now on, i'd look pretty shite from the left.. two wounds and a dozen messed-up teeth. somehow i can't twist my jaw to the right; hopefully its got to do with the numbness. OK, got to get myself dressed for the german-korean match. i ackshully bought a betting ticket for a korean win. it's never been so kelong, and i wouldn't be surprised for more kelongs to come.
