13.7.02 n.b.: came to the realisation that my blogs usually make sense toward the end. so go ahead, let the radiation sting your eyes for the next 5 minutes or so >:)my goodness! is it already saturday? looks like i'm fitting o.k.-ishly into the terror that is poly life. me classmates are also pretty glad at this phenomenon - perhaps its because IS today didn't require us to decay in LT 20 for 2 hours. maybe writcomm yesterday wasn't so terror after all, or could it be the prospect of a weekend which wouldn't be marred by some other last-minute writcomm assignment? *self crosses fingers, toes & testicles* yeah, webcg is quite a-ok as usual. our tutor who sorta resembles elton john taught us the use of that wonderful elliptical marquee tool, the magnetic lasso tool, and the not-really-user-friendly 'magic wand' in Photoshop 6. there's also the gradient + stroke, but that's just way too much braincell expense for me right now. ISCATS, short-form of Creativity and Thinking Skills (or Children Affected by a Toxic Substance), was say.. 200% better and more interesting than previous sessions. mainly due to the fact that our tutor's sleep-inducing techniques of teaching were at an all-time high. this sudden increase in interest was probably fuelled/influenced by the fact that i went to take a 20-minute dump over at Blk 53. 3 cheers for cheenabeng ong, his 1st ever crap-on-campus! :P (a mind-fugged danny trying to rip his left cheek off in CATS class.) after kitty-torture till 1800, rich + tristan were planning to go attend this 'La Evolucion' pageant/hopnite thingie organised by NP. some sort of Talentime which we were familiar with during primary and secondary school, yes? i didn't have a ticket but esther, whom i've never ackshully talked to so far, offered hers at the busstop on the way home. missed her 74 bus as a result from all that bag-rummaging. see, how selfless us 1B01's can be toward those in need :) thanks matey! entered the Octagon soon after to join rich and his mates kelvin, boy, jerard and sharul. met joshua on the way in too, he's one of me mates from geeky sec 1 + 2. unfortunately he's now in MCM. bastard! by the time we were seated, the pageant contestants were making their 'casualwear' introductions: "Hello, I am M2 from Horticulture and Landscape Management. My hobbies are cutting grass and chopping trees..." after the casual wear segment was the actual judged performances themselves. we got a taste of turkish-danced shakira, an awfully terrible elmo song singalong, a painfully zhao sia zhou jie lun, some ballet-dancing by this hawt lady, chapteh-kicking which only last in 4-second intervals, an actually OK performance of wang qin shui, and of course, someone had to screw it all up with a horrifically anal jam of "smells like teen spirit". we were screaming like people being thrown into hell's sea of blood all through. seems like the performer's teen spirit has lots of B.O. attached. i was giggling like a pansy admist my deranged laughter, directed at joshua, as his favourite kinda music was being analised real-time >:D (oh well, at least we had free microwave popcorn and aqua mineral water imported from some third-world country) made our way down to the city after the eveningwear *koff* segment was over. took these following shots on the bus ride: (kelvin threatening everyone with richard's "property of NP" Nikon. maybe someday he'd learn the actual concept of not having film in the camera...) (gerard tries to have a $989 supper of my palm) (rich practices the art of not being sober way before our destination..) rendezvous-ed with luke, the guy whom i didn't know lives 2 blocks away from me, at far east plaza. also got to see his mate who is said to be a terror racer in the hours of darkness. i'm already considering night photography of this different kind... enticing, isn't it? and another bus ride down to boat quay. safe to say its my 1st time in this area, since my nitespots usually frequent around the bugis vicinity. definitely a cool place to be if you're into techno or r+b muzaak. with a thickly-wadded wallet, of course. entered Hendrix's pub at the student rate of $20, gives you a free flow of bourbon coke and vodka sprite... rich says its a pity they don't have vodka ribena on the freeflow list. could already visualise those ribena grape mascots being drowned in a pool of ecstasy that is vodka :) (woof?) the r+b music was literally blowing my pants off just by sitting next to the pool table! would love to have trance doing that honour come June 2003. bleh. thanks to the korean beef set and mushroom spaghetti resembling cat's vomit i had in the afternoon, i was already having 'withdrawal withdrawal' symptoms by the 5th cup of drink, if you know what i mean :P the panadols for the tooth wound weren't that cooperative with the nicotine + alcohol either, so decided to call it a day in the early hours of saturday :( fecking waste of 'student rate' if you ask me! alright.. gotta go refuel my now-emptying stomach now. will be meeting rich later for this photography assignment due monday. apparently the theme will be safety, so i reckon we'd be doing pretty precarious stuff that'd soil the pants of the ministers in bishan-serangoon GRC :) cheers! 0 Comments: |
