Dear friends,

With regard to this thing we call friendship.. change is inevitable; it’s the only constant that keeps us all alive. Surely we tend to lose sight of what we really need and want amidst all the hustle and bustle of this day and age, in pursuit of an elusive perfection, the promise of a wonderful future. Here’s the thing – I’m not trying to affect your way of thinking in some tediously unique way. What I’m trying to get at is: Good first impressions and exceptional personalities come and go. Promising relationships come and go, too. But there is a constant that has transcended time and distance. It’s called companionship - The only thing through time that can possibly remain unchanged. I guess one of my great lessons in life at this quarter-life crisis is the knowledge of the people around me, people I have had the privilege of calling my friends. Not just those newly acquainted, but much more the ones who have seen me through age and maturity. There is nothing like another mortal through which so many possibilities can occur, in times where much inspiration and support is needed, and other moments when triumph and misery need bear witness. It doesn’t take much effort or sacrifice to maintain a friendship, but it’s a pity that priorities can sometimes get lost sight of.

There is no greater poverty in the world than loneliness.
