8.6.02 Greetings to all sperms,I'm officially seventeen! :D``` or at least, i feel like such. to think (just a year ago) that i'd never have a birthday celebration as fine as yesterday's. cheers *hic* to all who contributed. didn't exactly have a blast but what the hey - you can't always go wrong betting against England :P Started the merriment with lunch/dinner at bugis junction's Terra café, their food is surprisingly quite cheap and tastes okay. tried some 'aglio olio', turned out to be some cheesy (rather cheesy) vegan dish. no worries, it was a free meal for me :D Joined by Raymond the ex-birthday boy at about 7.25pm to try catch the Argentina-England match... nearby Caesar's Pub and Mindworks were full, so had to make our way down to Victoria St's open air makan house. didn't have a good angle/view of the fat tv but what the hey - it was to be a lousy match decided by a david behkiam penalty. First round of tiger time© commenced... (raymond confirming that he could still tell the time. tiger time that is) Unfortunately, the cheap carrots + asparagus from that spaghetti lunch/dinner did nothing to satisfy my hunger.. and there were so many food stalls around.. so what the hey - we ordered a buncha chicken wings (hands too oily to handle camera then) plus the above pile of goop known as black pepper crab. by then we'd done close to a dozen bottles o' Tigger and couldn't be arsed when that English bloke beat that crazy Argentinian guy (MOTM, IMO) for a goal. (hanbin was waving that ghey pepsi can when england scored) (diners watch the 1st half come to an end - time to order satay?) The match went on with some nice attacking by the south american side but to no avail. Pochettino better watch his arse from now on :P Soon it was all over but the merrymaking was just about halfway thru. (ray + i finishing the 6th bottle) ("wah, liver sure cham liao") *N.B.: raymond was drinking so much because his gf was going Genting for 3 days.. how's that for a reason to get pished? :) (hanbin finds a way to dry up his paper towel in a matter of seconds) Then it was the way down back to where I had once worked - Firebase Alpha - the cybercafe that pretty much sucked - for some CS. let me reiterate that i've not been playing that silly game regularly since Secondary 3, and thank goodness i didn't shit myself. (we were playing terrorists - order of nicknames is also reverse order for capacity left in body to contain alcohol... and one wonders who used the handle '|tS TiGeR T|mE') I wasn't expecting much from Lawrence, the owner of Wendy's Corner just outside the lan shop (only known him say, 2 weeks ago?) but about an hour into the gaming, he appeared with this coffee bean & tea leaf Tiramisu® cake.. so touching! good thing the fridge outside had some space, it was too soon for the booze to wear off :P A number of me mates were around at that time and had a share of the bloody creamy cake. (hanbin, better known as He Who Burns Thyself's Leg Hair did the lightup - candles courtesy of Swensen's) Then came the usual singsong of 'Happy Birthday to Me' followed by blowing of candles (though not after making a 3-page long wish).. (cake was pre-cut but i was too blur to notice) The serving of cake was quite surprising ackshully, i've never had experienced giving out cake and having just once slice remaining on the platter. cakes are always too much to fill a single family in one night. we couldn't find a chiobu eating at the prata shop outside, so i decided to just pass it on to the uncle (met him everytime i walked into FBA) who was taking his smoke break. (hanbin taking his first actual gulp of Tiger :P) Raymond was so euphoric with the Tiger on the table and even stole my entire mug while i was serving the cakes. good thing he had company for the trip back home... (jianliang and hanbin trying their best to cease the flow of piss going into raymond's mouth.. 8th bottle for the nite) (yee chuan, norman (honorary 'sexytary' of the Happy Man Club), me boss mike ("har? today your birthday meh?") + self.) (the people over at Wendy's Corner. l-r: wendy (errr.. i think), lawrence, self and trevor their barista) Sedated as we were, we managed to return to our respective homes before 6 the next day and laugh at the working-class people on buses and mrt's. 9th June will be Tony's turn to receive chinese water torture (or beer torture)... and Raymond's stead wouldn't be back by then yet. Let's hope his wallet's still breathing. Simi diam siah?© Cheers! p.s.: 'dis probably the longest blog i'll ever write for a long time :P p.p.s.: does beer contain caffeine or what? hangover and insomnia don't come hand-in-hand... 0 Comments: |
